How We Can Help With Fatigue
How many times do new clients answer “Yes” to the question, “Do you suffer from fatigue?” Probably around 90% of the time. Many people report feeling constantly tired, and we can provide effective guidance on how to lift energy levels and restore well-being. To understand fatigue properly, it’s important to define it. Fatigue is different from drowsiness. Drowsiness is the need to sleep, while fatigue is a lack of energy and motivation. That said, drowsiness and apathy (a feeling of indifference or not caring about what happens) can be symptoms of fatigue. Fatigue can be a normal response to physical exertion, emotional stress, boredom, or lack of sleep. However, it can also signal a more serious underlying psychological or physical condition.
Common Causes of Fatigue
- Anaemia (including iron deficiency)
- Sleep disorders such as insomnia or obstructive sleep apnoea
- Ongoing pain
- Allergies that cause hay fever or asthma
- Underactive thyroid (hypothyroidism)
- Regular alcohol or drug use
- Depression or grief
Illnesses Associated with Fatigue
- Long-term infections such as bacterial endocarditis, parasitic infections, AIDS, or tuberculosis
- Congestive heart failure
- Diabetes
- Chronic liver or kidney disease
- Addison’s disease
- Anorexia or other eating disorders
- Arthritis
- Autoimmune diseases such as lupus
- Malnutrition
- Cancer
The pattern of fatigue often helps to determine its cause. For example:
- If you wake rested but become fatigued with activity, an underlying physical condition (such as hypothyroidism) may be involved.
- If you wake already feeling low in energy and remain fatigued throughout the day, it may be linked to depression or another clinical issue.
- When fatigue persists for more than six weeks, despite adequate sleep, good nutrition, and a low-stress lifestyle, it should be assessed by a doctor.
Most clients, however, suffer from low-grade fatigue that does not stem from serious illness. By joining The Natural Way, they take a positive step towards reversing lethargy. Fatigue can often be relieved by weight loss, cleansing the body of toxins, and adopting a healthier diet. Toxin build-up contributes to sluggishness, and stimulating the body’s detox pathways can provide an excellent energy boost. Another common issue is over-reliance on stimulants. Many people with fatigue consume diets high in sugar and caffeine to achieve short bursts of energy. However, these create highs and lows in energy levels throughout the day, exhausting the adrenal glands and worsening fatigue.
Natural Approaches to Restoring Energy
Health and Vitality Program – Ideal for weight-loss clients struggling with tiredness. By following the “Body Clock” philosophy, digestion becomes more efficient, reducing wasted energy. High fruit and vegetable intake provides essential nutrients and hydration to support energy and cleansing.
- Nutritional Support – A B-complex supplement (such as 4 x B+ daily) can help reduce stress-related fatigue. Calming natural formulations taken before bed support relaxation and nerve health.
- Lifestyle Strategies – Stress can be as draining as physical exertion. Clients are encouraged to adopt stress management practices such as yoga, tai chi, or meditation to support long-term resilience and energy.
The beauty of our program is that many clients initially join us for weight loss, but through natural dietary changes and our unique formulations, they also notice improvements in overall health and energy levels.
